Head of Business Development
and Sales Strategy

About the Job
Tozny is a security and privacy company. We have successfully developed software products and performed services across the federal government for a number of years. We are positioning ourselves to pivot our products into the commercial market. This involves a planned assessment of most promising verticals, including those with compliance regulations like financial, fintech, health care, government, and privacy (GDPR, CCPA).

This role is strategic and right for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who has successfully developed and led sales efforts for a start up. You will work directly with product, operations, and the CEO to plan Tozny’s trajectory and drive the execution of the sales strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sales and pipeline management for our existing software products and services to increase subscription and recurring revenue
  • Provide feedback and customer/market insights and product / market fit to inform product development
  • Evaluate cybersecurity and privacy market segments – e.g., vendors, technology offerings, customer needs, market size, and growth rate
  • Create a strong Business Plan to participate in a particular market segment
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with partners
  • Create and execute the sales plan to drive sales of products into the partners, other OEMs, and potentially new channels
  • Development or supervision of sales, marketing, and business development collateral
  • Coordinate closely with the product team for customer success

Skills Required

  • Proven track record in increasing sales and revenue with in a fast growing start up environment
  • Software sales experience, licensing, OEM, channel partnership, or SaaS
  • Knowledge of the core challenges that businesses face in privacy and security, particularly identity management and cryptography
  • Proven track record in increasing sales and revenue with in a fast growing start up environment
  • Strong analytical and financial skills to evaluate market opportunities
  • Experience with OEM and channel partnership development
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing plans
  • Experience in sales development of new business or product
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to establish and influence senior level contacts with key partners.

What You Bring Along

  • Undergraduate degree, with an MBA preferred
  • 5-10 years experience in technology companies
  • Experience working in security, privacy, or encryption is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a results-driven sales environment with a history of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Proven ability to develop senior level relationships at key accounts and influence decision making
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts that involve products and services
  • Technical aptitude to work comfortably with engineering and operations
  • Experience creating business plans, including market research analysis and business modeling, and successfully advocating the case to senior management
  • Demonstrated success in taking a business plan and executing on the plan to develop a new and profitable business
  • Proven ability to develop an integrated marketing plan to support the business plan
  • Willing to execute the marketing plan by working with internal and external resources
  • Proven self-motivator, but also a collaborator. Able to handle ambiguity
  • Able to develop and track performance-based metrics for key partners and channels
